Save for small pockets of oases, these vast sands are no home for humans. Despite such inhospitable conditions, beneath the sands is thought to be an endless supply of magic. Many believe it's for that reason that the Highling Empire decided to invade the area making it one of the primary battlefields in the ongoing conflict between the Highling Empire and Gran Soleil.

だが魔力の蓄積量は無尽蔵とも言われ、それを目当てにハイリングが侵攻を開始したと思われる

ソレイルの目と鼻の先だがハイリングはここまで侵攻してきているようで
ときおり哨戒部隊とおぼしき機影が何度となく確認されている

屹立した岩の柱はかつてこの地に住んでいた巨人たちが建てたものとも言われているが定かではない
東方へ向かうキャラバンが道すがら通り過ぎることも多く、ささやかな街道として機能を果たしている

Popular belief regards these stone pillars as the work of giants that once lived in the area, but there's little evidence of its makers one way or another. It serves as a modest travel hub, with many merchants passing through it on their way to the east.

Despite its close proximity to Gran Soleil, the Highling Empire nevertheless seems to have encroached on the area, as signs of patrolling units have been found there countless times.

そして、戦いは更に激しさを増していく…
